Because the Lord loves his people, he has made you king over them.

The theme of this conference is 'The Majesty of the Gospel of Christ'.  I can think of no greater and continual need within the church of Christ than to see Jesus with greater clarity, holiness, and glory.  We are only changed into His image by beholding His glorious holiness and beauty.  The principle need of every Christian, from the newborn babe in Christ to the veteran saint, is a clearer and brighter view of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The conference schedule features no 'giants' who have 'arrived', but only weak, chosen vessels whose greatest value and benefit to you will be in pointing you sharply and clearly to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Our hope is not with men, but with the Spirit of God who delights to make much of Christ.  We are convinced in our times of theological decline and relativism that mankind's need is the same as it has been in every age - the Gospel of the Glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please pray with us that God will magnify His Son in these days.

The Person and Character of the Lord Jesus Christ

This session will be a look at the person and character of the Lord Jesus Christ as we see Him in the gospels.  What is the beauty and attraction of His person?  How does He soar above other men?  The Lord Jesus Christ manifests the perfection of every virtue and His excellencies are without end.  The aim of this session is to present a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ while He walked this earth and to show how we can draw true help from what we find.

Friday, March 28

2:00pm                 Session 2                 Michael Durham

The Revealing Work of the Lord Jesus Christ

In this session we will be considering the Lord Jesus Christ as the true, Divine light.  There are many ways this can be considered: His actions and signs that He performed, His boasted claims of divinity, etc.  But this session will focus chiefly on the incredible reality that the God-man Christ Jesus opens and discloses so much Divine truth.  He reveals so much about the Father in clear and authoritative language.  He has truly made the Father known.  The aim of this session is to demonstrate that the Lord Jesus Christ reveals God in truth and clarity.

3:45pm                 Session 3                 Tim Conway

The Saving Work of the Lord Jesus Christ:
Part I: Delivered Up for Our Transgressions

This session will deal with the atonement of Jesus Christ as the great fulfillment of the Jewish ‘Day of Atonement’—both in the satisfaction of God’s justice and in the removal of sin from the sinner.  We will look at this gift as that which overwhelmingly conquers the consequences of Adam’s fall. This session will aim to set before us that profound part of Christ’s saving work that was finished when He declared it to be so on the cross.

7:00pm                 Session 4                 Chad Thompson

The Saving Work of the Lord Jesus Christ:
Part II: Raised for Our Justification

In this session the resurrection will be held up as the completion of Christ’s work of salvation.  We will look not only at His rising from the tomb, but His ascension into heaven, His exaltation to the right hand of the Father, and the way in which this effects the salvation of the Christian.  The Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead as the acceptable priest for His people having offered an acceptable sacrifice.  This session will aim at setting forth the glorious saving implications of union with the risen Christ.

Saturday, March 29

Nursery provided during all sessions on Saturday, but not during the meal times.

8:30am                 Book Tables Open

9:00am                 Session 5                 Michael Durham

The Sufficiency of the Work of the Lord Jesus Christ

The labor of the Lord Jesus Christ is the crown jewel of all of God’s work with and within creation.  This work of the God-man from Nazareth is of such power and efficacy that those joined to it are saved from sin and damnation and are in fact made to be priests and kings unto God.  His sacrifice is sufficient to put away the sins of every type and degree imagined. His resurrection and ascension to the Divine throne provides the believer with a legal standing of righteousness that cannot be fathomed by any mind but God’s alone.  His work is sufficient.  He has revealed more about God and eternity than all others put together.  His revelation to us while on this earth, and that which He has communicated through His NT apostles and prophets is beyond sufficient to make known unto men the truth about the God they have foolishly worshiped in ignorance, dispelling the darkness and casting light on the nations. The aim of this session is to set all this before us in as high and practical a way as possible.

10:30am               Session 6                 Bob Jennings

The Faithfulness of the Lord Jesus Christ

In this session we will attempt to lift up the incredible love that the Lord Jesus Christ has for His people.  In His priestly ministry now in heaven He does not forsake us, but is truly our faithful high priest, sympathetic and compassionate.  So faithful is Christ to His sheep that there is not any thing in this creation that is able to separate us from His love for us.  He is a loving husband and is of such a singleness of mind to make for Himself a spotless and glorious bride.  This session will aim at rejoicing in the truth that His character does not change, that He loves us always, and fails us never.

11:45am              LUNCH PROVIDED

12:45pm              FELLOWSHIP - Book Tables Open

1:20pm                 Session 7                 Mack Tomlinson

The Kingship of the Lord Jesus Christ

In this session we will be looking at the exalted Christ in His kingly, royal status.  In the exaltation of Christ, truly David’s Greater Son has taken His seat.  The Lord Jesus Christ presently rules all things, all things are being placed under His feet, all will soon bow before Him.  The kings and lords of this earth serve Him in the direction of His secret will.  The aim of this session will be to consider the soul-strengthening truth that God has given Christ, as the head of all things, to the church.

2:50pm                 Session 8                 Tim Conway

The Mystery of the Incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ

In this session the Lord Jesus Christ will be considered from a somewhat different perspective – the absolute miracle of the incarnation. We are in no way intending to remove the mystery that rightly belongs to this most awesome of miracles. However there is much confusion and general misunderstanding surrounding the things that are and are not involved in the incarnation.  Self-destructive teaching has arisen on this topic all throughout the church’s history.  And while many are afraid to approach the topic at all, it is a truth presented to us clearly in the Bible.  Therefore this session will aim to look at a few of the issues surrounding the incarnation and to demonstrate the profundity and the beauty of this glorious mystery.

4:30pm                 Session 9                 All Speakers

Question and Answer

This will be a general question and answer session with our speakers.

5:45pm                 DINNER PROVIDED

7:30pm                 Session 10                 Bob Jennings

The Gospel of Glory of the Lord Jesus Christ

In this final session we will consider the glories we have heard thus far, as well as make an appeal to present this glorious Christ when counseling with other Christians, when evangelizing the lost around us who so desperately need a view of the majesty of Christ, and to rehearse again and again these truths that we would be a people who more rightly regard Christ the Lord as holy in our hearts, that we may be able and ready to give a reason for the hope that is within us.  The aim of this session will be to impress upon us an unforgettable view of the desperate need we all have of the Savior that we find in Jesus Christ and why this Gospel is indeed the power of God unto the salvation of all men.
